In 2010, he was chosen “The Architect of the Year“ and won the Grand Prix of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria and the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria. Ignatov is also winner of numerous awards for architecture, among which: the “Golden Age“ 2013 award of the Ministry of Culture, the Grand Prix of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria for 2012, the prize “Varna“ for 2012, and the “Stalker” award.
He has graduated the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy – Sofia in 1995 with a Master’s degree, as well as the Columbia University in New York in 2006.
